Welcome to the Chafee Funds Program of New York State

The Chafee Funds Program (CFP) of New York State through the Office of Children and Family Services offers limited financial awards to assist eligible current and former foster care youth with expenses incurred as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. There is a range of funding to ensure the most vulnerable receive an award. Funds for this program are awarded from $1,050 to $1,750 per applicant.

Eligibility


To qualify for the Chafee Funds Program (CFP) of New York State, as of the date of application submission applicants must:


•Be at least 18 years old, but have not reached their 23rd birthday AND

•Have been in foster care in New York State on or after the age of 14; OR
•Be a current foster care youth, aged 20.

Eligibility requirements are subject to change without prior notification.

All CFP awards are dispersed on a first come, first served basis for completed eligible applications while funding is available.
